Giving Thanks at Smarter Toddler

As we say goodbye to Thanksgiving and hello to the Holidays it’s safe to say November has been a very busy month at Smarter Toddler Financial District. The school has been transformed with Fall leaves, beautiful  decorations, and each day brings something new.

My girls have stayed so busy this month learning about all things Fall and giving thanks. My daughter Harper who is in the older toddler classroom has been learning about harvesting. Her class has also been collecting, sorting, and counting cans and boxed items to donate to City Harvest. My little one in the young toddlers has been reading some Fall harvesting stories and creating harvest shakers by filling bottle with mini funnels and  paper.

At home I have been mindful of teaching my children to “give back first”. We have been gathering and collecting items to donate in our apartment and also delivering some un used toys in boxes to our local thrift store. I’m so happy that Smarter Toddler is also mirroring my same efforts by having a donation drive in the classroom.

Smarter Toddler also hosted their first ever Potluck Thanksgiving lunch. All the parents were invited and the children brought a dish to share. This was so much fun and everyone had the best time! There were so many new foods to try and my youngest Harlow really loved everything on her plate!

All classes have been continuing to learn about Thanksgiving and family traditions this month. The children have also been creating turkeys and family portraits. The day before Thanksgiving was a very exciting parade in which the school buggies were transformed into festive floats and adorned with balloons, turkeys and pumpkins! The older toddlers sang songs and held signs.

This month has been a month to celebrate what we are thankful for. As a parent, I’m most thankful my girls have such an amazing school to attend with the most caring staff. Just last week one of Harper’s teachers pulled me aside to discuss Harper’s leaps and bounds in the classroom. It takes her a little extra time to open up but it seems she has done so and I couldn’t be happier!

I also have some very exciting news! Smarter Toddler is offering all of my readers a 10% discount off of your first month’s tuition.

Mention Gotham Love for 10% Off 1st Month through December 31, 2016.

I hope everyone had a wondering Thanksgiving!

XOXO,

Suzanne
