This past weekend my family took a trip with TheMoms and 15 other families to the spectacular Woodloch Pines Resort located in the Poconos. We were really excited to visit Woodloch after hearing such great things about it. Many of our friends and family have been before during different times of the year but I think we were the first to go in the middle of winter. After a 2.5 hour drive from New York City, we arrived at Woodloch to find a magical winter wonderland.
Our accommodations were amazing. The resort offers rooms with a living area, kitchen, beds with memory foam mattresses and even a washer and drier! My kids were right at home!
The resort has been family owned and operated since 1958. You can instantly feel the warm hospitality the moment you set foot on the property. My city kids were ready to take advantage of all Woodloch had to offer and trust me… it’s a lot! Our first stop was lunch at the Inn which was delicious and within walking distance of our room. Since the resort is so large it was often necessary to take a bus from one location to the next. There were multiple stops and we never waited more than a few minutes at any one location.
Woodloch has an array of activities both scheduled and ongoing for all seasons. The winter activities included snow tubing which was a first for my 6 year old son. He had a blast (as did my husband, @DadaRocks) . There were 2 different hills for skill level and apparently both were equally fun! I love these photos of the smile on my son’s face and the rosy cheeks. He definitely did not mind the cold when he was having such fun!
While the boys were off extreme tubing, I decided to have a little winter photo shoot with my one year old daughter. We simply stepped outside our back door patio area and had a gorgeous view of the snow covered trees and lake in the background.
Before the daylight was over my husband and son also went to the archery range. This was also another first for my son. Check out these Robin Hood skills!
Character meals also happen at Woodloch! What kid doesn’t love that? It was fun for the adults as well and everyone had a blast. The all inclusive resort offers first class dining and the staff was amazing!
My son had to squeeze one last activity in before bedtime. After all, if there is an indoor water area inside your hotel building, then by all means you must go for it! Needless to say, he had a blast!
Our last morning started early with a delicious breakfast followed by the arcade and indoor forest. My son could have easily stayed in here all day but at Woodloch, there is always else to do! There was even an adorable toddler area for my daughter. The facility is very clean and there are attendants everywhere.
After the Indoor Forest, we hopped on a bus and headed over to the bumper cars and kiddie cars for my daughter. They were both so cute as the y experienced something new for the first time. Priceless!
Our next stop was Go Carts. Yes, you guess it… another first for my son! He was brave and went on the smaller carts by himself. He was slightly apprehensive at first (there are family go carts for those who do not want to ride alone) but he worked through it and had a blast! I was cheering from the sideline and was thrilled he actually did really good (minus one little mishap !)
There was also an adorable little petting zoo and pony ride for the kids. My daughter opted out of the pony ride but my son jumped right in!
I highly recommend traveling with another family to experience twice the fun. @StrollerintheCity and I have kids around the same age so we had lots of fun experiencing the activities at Woodloch together! I should also mention after all of these outdoor winter activities we were “very” lucky to have @VaselineBrand spending the weekend with us and letting us sample their latest lotion with mind-blowing winter dryness combatting properties. I am loving the latest deep healing moisture formula for dryness.
Woodloch Resort has been rated one of America’s ten best resorts for families by TripAdvisor and has won numerous other awards as well. We feel very luck to have experienced so much fun with The Moms and the other families. Our family will remember this trip for a long time and we look forward to our next visit!
XOXO,
Suzanne
