If anyone has ever spent time in Europe, then you have probably returned to the US yearning for the fabulous “cafe” that is served on every corner.
Nespresso is an instant espresso that’s already taken Europe by storm and is now making it’s way to select cities in the US.
I had the opportunity to visit one of the newest outlets in the fabulous Nespresso SoHo Boutique lastweek. After being a devout tea drinker the past 5 years, I was a little nervous and scared by the big bold flavors that greeted me at the door. The space was incredible. Super tall ceilings and a gorgeous display of all 16 types of coffee pods, or “Grand Crus”. The bright bold colors of the pods add to the fun and sophisticated look of Nespresso. The machines are also brightly colored aside a stainless still which is so modern and fun for the kitchen.
After mingling with fellow guests, we made our way to the presentation area where we would “take a flight” around the world sampling various espresso’s and bites from different countries. Padma Lakshmi is the new spokesmodel for Nespresso. How could you ask for a more qualified representative? Padma lived in Europe most of her 20’s as a Model and of course everyone knows her in her famous role as a judge on Top Chef. Padma’s life experiences have allowed her to properly pair the appropriate expresso with different foods, deserts or any other gathering that may pop up on your life!
Padma believes coffee, like food, is a ritual. People develop memories about their coffee because of the strong aromatic taste. You can’t help but to connect with your coffee. Mother nature gives us strong smells and taste to form bonds with friends and families with our food and drink. Padma recommends either choosing a coffee that compliments your meal or one that goes completely against it.
As a mom, I no longer have the luxury to grab a cup of coffee or tea when I choose, so having such a fabulous machine at home I can instantly make a cup whenever I choose. There are so many other types I look forward to trying among making lattes, cappuccino and Padma’s signature recipe “Nespresso Vanilla Coffee with Caramel Milk Froth”. The Indriya from India was definitely my favorite expresso from the evening and I look forward to re-creating my experience at home! With the Nespresso instant espresso maker, there is no need to waste your time any longer standing in line to buy coffee. You can now make it in the comfort of your own home knowing that you are drinking quality espresso derived from the best regions of different countries. Each flavor is carefully created by the experts from Nespresso. You will not have an “artificial” taste such as in other in home coffee makers, but each pod has a different “intensity” which allows you to select based on your mood.
