Palmers Hits the “Stretch” Mark

Skincare has always been important to me in every stage of my life. I’ve always been interested in what I can do to improve the appearance and texture of my skin. Sure, there are certain genetic boundaries that will never allow me to have completely flawless skin, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try!

Even as a sun worshipping teenager, I often looked for products that would sooth and add moisture back to my dehydrated skin. Palmers cocoa butter formula was always my go to lotion and it worked so well. I was never without it and would search high and low to find it when it wasn’t so readily available in my hometown.

When I became pregnant with my first child, I immediately started looking for stretch mark creams. I had no idea if I would actually get stretch marks or not because even with statistics and other contributing  factors, there is really no way to  know. I didn’t want to take any chances and started to use Palmer’s stretch mark formula right away.

There were many competitors in the marketplace 10 years ago but it didn’t sway me to buy into the hype. I followed  my gut and went with the tried and trusted Palmer’s brand of my youth. I’m proud to say I used the lotion day and night and did not get any stretch marks with my first child.

I recently had the opportunity to attend a special Palmer’s sip and see event hosted by the brand in the beautiful space of Maman in lower Manhattan. I was eager to hear about three new enhanced cocoa butter formulas. It was a lovely morning and I left feeling excited that one of my favorite brands hit the mark yet again!

My personal favorite formula is the Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks. Clearly I’m not the only one who feels this way because Palmer’s cocoa butter formula is the No. 1 stretch mark brand in the U.S.! The new enhanced formula specifically targets collagen and elastin breakdown caused by pregnancy hormones. The new formulas also include even more natural ingredients to combat stretch marks, retain moisture and increase suppleness.

As new and expectant moms, we all know the pregnancy journey isn’t easy and often takes a toll on our changing bodies. This can really be an issue with self confidence and Palmer’s has done the research and is doing everything they can to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and improve skin elasticity with their products.

When skin is soft, it can stretch more easily. the lightweight non- greasy Palmer’s formula helps improve skin elasticity during and after pregnancy or weight fluctuation. The cocoa butter and shea butter is sourced from West Africa and helps to improve skin’s moisture levels. Another key ingredient is the natural antioxidant Vitamin E that helps fight free radicals.

Palmer’s is also launching a new Cocoa Butter Massage Cream for Stretch Marks. This cream is more of a concentrated formula which is ideal for targeting certain areas such as hips, tummy, thighs and bust. All Palmer’s stretch mark products moisturize for 48 hours which is awesome! Also, new and expectant moms do not have to worry about toxic ingredients in the stretch mark line. All products are free from mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, phenoxyethanol and synthetic dyes.  One of the reasons I have always loved Palmers is because they are hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin and dermatologist approved as well.

As part of the updated range, Palmer’s is also launching a new, enhanced Tummy Butter for Stretch Marks. This is an intensive moisturizer that offers maximum hydration. This rich treatment is ideal for nighttime use to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The key ingredients such as collagen, elastin, argon oil and shea butter really help moisturize skin.

After an 8 week test over 98% of women saw improved skin elasticity, a reduction in the appearance of stretch marks and an improvement in skin texture and tone. With such a great price point and so many wonderful benefits, I would recommend Palmer’s stretch mark line to all my expectant mom friends. Also, there is no reason why anyone can’t use the products pregnant or not. I’ve always enjoyed Palmers and will happily continue to use the brand in every stage of my life.
